  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp white sugar
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup porridge oats
  • 125 g cold butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180C/375F.
  2. Peel, core, and chop apples into bite-sized pieces; mix with nutmeg, cinnamon, sugars, flour, and lemon juice in a baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and cold butter; rub together until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle the topping over the apple mixture.
  5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the topping is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving.
