  • 1 lb frozen vegan gyoza dumplings
  • 1 lb heirloom tomatoes (mixed colors)
  • 1 English cucumber (or 4 Persian cucumbers)
  • 5 scallions (thinly sliced)
  • 1 red chili pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1/2 cup basil leaves
  • 3 Tbsp Tamari
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 23 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds for garnish (or crispy fried onions)
  • Garlic chili sauce

Instructions

  1. Steam the frozen gyoza dumplings according to package instructions. Once ready, toss them with a teaspoon of sesame oil or a splash of water to prevent sticking.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together Tamari, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup for the dressing.
  3. Cut heirloom tomatoes into wedges, slice cucumber and scallions thinly, then combine them in a bowl with the dumplings and optional chili pepper.
  4. Tear basil leaves over the salad and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds or crispy fried onions for garnish.
  5. Serve at room temperature or chill in the fridge for added freshness.
