  • 1 small head of cabbage (cut into thick slices)
  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg (optional, for binding)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the cabbage into thick rounds and brush both sides with olive oil. Arrange them on the baking sheet.
  3. In a bowl, mix ground beef (or turkey), chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and egg if using until well combined.
  4. Shape the meat mixture into patties and press onto each cabbage slice.
  5. Bake for about 25 minutes. Top each burger with cheese and broil for an additional 3-5 minutes until melted.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
