- 1 small head of cabbage (cut into thick slices)
- 1 ½ lbs ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 egg (optional, for binding)
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the cabbage into thick rounds and brush both sides with olive oil. Arrange them on the baking sheet.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef (or turkey), chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and egg if using until well combined.
- Shape the meat mixture into patties and press onto each cabbage slice.
- Bake for about 25 minutes. Top each burger with cheese and broil for an additional 3-5 minutes until melted.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
