  • 4 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 3 1/2 cups + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup whole or 2% milk (warmed to 110°F)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 beaten egg (for brushing the tops)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for topping)
  • Flaky sea salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and lightly butter a 9×13 pan.
  2. In a small pot, melt unsalted butter and stir in minced garlic; cook until fragrant.
  3. In a stand mixer bowl, combine flour, parsley, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk and egg along with garlic butter mixture; mix until combined.
  4. Knead dough on low speed until smooth (about 10-12 minutes). If sticky, gradually add more flour.
  5. Cut dough into 12 equal portions; shape into balls and place in prepared pan to rise until doubled in size.
  6. Brush tops with beaten egg wash before baking for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Brush baked rolls with remaining garlic butter immediately after removing from the oven.
