Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups warm water (heated to about 110℉)
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp white granulated sugar
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 6 tbsp brown butter
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 tbsp milk (adjust for desired consistency)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm water and sugar in a bowl. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let it sit until foamy (10-15 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil; stir until it forms a sticky dough.
  3. Lightly oil the dough surface and cover it with a damp towel. Refrigerate for at least 12 hours.
  4. Grease a baking pan and pour melted butter into it. Place the risen dough into the pan and let it rise for another hour and a half.
  5. Preheat oven to 450℉. Dimple the dough with wet fingers, then drizzle the cinnamon topping made from brown butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon over it.
  6. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before drizzling with vanilla icing.
