Instructions

  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and espresso powder.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in chocolate chips.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together heavy cream and egg. Gradually mix into dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Turn dough onto a floured surface; shape into an 8-inch circle and cut into triangles.
  6. Chill the scones for about 30 minutes before baking.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
