  • 1 tablespoon tallow or cooking oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
  • Kosher salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a Dutch oven, heat tallow over medium-high heat. Sear the sirloin chunks until browned on all sides, then set aside.
  2. Add ground beef to the pot and cook for about 15 minutes until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
  3. Return the seared sirloin to the pot and pour in the beef broth. Stir well.
