  • 2 lbs Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, sliced
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash and peel the potatoes before slicing them thinly.
  3. In a bowl, combine heavy cream with minced garlic, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  4. Layer potato slices in a greased baking dish; pour some cream mixture over each layer followed by cheddar cheese. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
  5. Mix panko breadcrumbs with melted butter; sprinkle over the top.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
