  • 4 cups bread flour

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk and softened butter until melted. Add eggs and combine.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together bread flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients to form the dough.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about an hour).
  5. For the filling, mix softened butter with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle; spread filling evenly before cutting into strips. Twist strips into braids.
  7. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, let rise again for 30 minutes, then bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes.
  8. Cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
