  • 1/3 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • For Topping: 3 tablespoons butter, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1/3 cup granulated sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat; stir in the apple cider and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and apple pie spice.
  4. In another bowl, whisk the sugar and egg until blended; add the butter-cider mixture.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently until just mixed.
  6. Spray a donut pan with cooking spray; fill molds with batter using a piping bag or spoon.
  7. Bake for about 7 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow cooling for one minute before transferring to a rack.
  9. Prepare topping by melting butter and mixing sugars with cinnamon; coat each donut.
